Curabrein stuurt niets. Wat je invult blijft op je telefoon staan, versleuteld. Er is geen account, geen server en geen bedrijf dat meekijkt. Ik, de maker, zie niets van wat je invult. Ook niet als ik dat zou willen.
Dat is geen belofte over hoe zorgvuldig ik ben. De app heeft geen toestemming om internet te gebruiken. Dat kun je zelf nakijken: op de bladzijde van Curabrein in de Play Store staat onder "Over deze app" welke toestemmingen de app vraagt. Internet staat er niet bij.

Alles hieronder staat uitsluitend op je eigen toestel. Je vult het zelf in; de app leidt niets af uit sensoren, contacten, locatie of andere apps.
De gegevens staan in een versleutelde databank op je toestel (SQLCipher). De sleutel staat in de Android Keystore, de beveiligde opslag van het toestel zelf, en niet in de app.
Je kunt de app op slot zetten met je vingerafdruk of de code van je telefoon. Dat is een aparte keuze in de instellingen, met een uitweg voor als je vingerafdruk niet werkt.
Als je een reservekopie maakt, kun je die met een eigen wachtwoord beveiligen. Dat wachtwoord wordt met PBKDF2 (210 000 rondes, HMAC-SHA-256) omgezet in een sleutel, en het bestand wordt versleuteld met AES-256-GCM. Dat wachtwoord staat nergens opgeslagen. Ben je het kwijt, dan krijgt niemand die kopie nog open, ik ook niet.
De app vraagt vijf toestemmingen, en elk daarvan is voor iets zichtbaars:

Bij die laatste twee: de app vraagt je toestel om te bevestigen dat jij het bent, en krijgt daarop alleen ja of nee terug. Je vingerafdruk zelf komt de app nooit binnen; die blijft in de beveiligde chip van je telefoon.
Er staat in de app ook nog een zesde toestemming die Android zichzelf geeft om berichten binnen de app rond te sturen. Die geeft nergens toegang toe en is niet iets wat jij goedkeurt.
Internet staat er niet bij. De app vraagt die toestemming niet en kan dus geen verbinding maken.
Alleen als jij daar zelf op drukt. In elk van deze gevallen zie je vooraf wat er weggaat, en druk jij op de knop:
In al deze gevallen verlaat er niets je toestel zonder een handeling van jou.
De app kan schermteksten laten voorlezen met de stem van je toestel. Dat staat standaard uit.
Sommige voorleesstemmen van Android sturen de tekst naar de server van de
fabrikant om er geluid van te maken. Die stemmen laat Curabrein niet
zien. De app toont alleen stemmen die het toestel als
network_required = 0 opgeeft, dus alleen stemmen die offline
werken.
De AVG geeft je recht op inzage, correctie, overdraagbaarheid en wissen van je gegevens. Bij de meeste apps oefen je die rechten uit door een bedrijf te schrijven dat je gegevens in beheer heeft.
Hier werkt dat anders. Ik heb geen gegevens van jou. Er is geen kopie, geen back-up aan mijn kant en geen databank waarin je voorkomt. Ik kan je gegevens niet inzien, niet corrigeren en niet wissen. Dat is met opzet zo gebouwd.
Op één punt geldt dat niet, en dat punt begin je zelf. Stuur je me een bericht via de instellingen, dan heb ik vanaf dat moment wel iets: wat je hebt geschreven, en het e-mailadres waar de mail vandaan komt. Die berichten komen binnen op curabrein@hotmail.com, een postbus bij Microsoft. Ik bewaar ze zolang ik nodig heb om je melding op te lossen, en daarna niet meer. Wil je eerder dat ik jouw bericht wis, of wil je weten wat ik ervan heb, dan schrijf je naar datzelfde adres. Voor die berichten gelden je rechten wel gewoon tegenover mij.
Je oefent die rechten daarom in de app zelf uit:

"Alles wissen" wist werkelijk alles: elke registratie, elke aantekening, elk contact, en de instellingen. Er blijft niets achter en het is niet terug te halen. De app is daarna zoals na de installatie.
Wil je een klacht indienen over de verwerking van je gegevens, dan kan dat bij de Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit (België), gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be.
Voor de volledigheid, want dit staat los van de app: als je Curabrein via Google Play installeert, weet Google dat. Google verstrekt mij daarover geanonimiseerde cijfers: hoeveel installaties, op welke soort toestellen. Staat je toestel zo ingesteld dat het foutrapporten verstuurt, dan krijg ik ook technische rapporten over crashes.
Die gegevens komen van Google en niet uit Curabrein. Er staat niets in wat je in de app hebt ingevuld. Voor die verwerking is Google verwerkingsverantwoordelijke en gelden de voorwaarden van Google Play.
Curabrein is gemaakt voor volwassenen. De app is niet op kinderen gericht. Omdat er van niemand iets verzameld wordt, geldt dat ook voor hen.
Verandert er iets aan hoe de app met gegevens omgaat, dan verandert deze verklaring mee, met een nieuwe datum bovenaan. Zolang de app niets verstuurt, valt er weinig te wijzigen. Gaat de app ooit wél iets versturen, dan krijg je dat te zien voordat het gebeurt. Het wordt geen regel die stilletjes in deze tekst verschijnt.
Deze bladzijde haalt zelf ook niets op. Geen lettertype, geen script, geen afbeelding, geen meetpixel. Er wordt niet bijgehouden dat je hier bent geweest. Het zou vreemd zijn om op te schrijven dat de app niets verstuurt, op een bladzijde die dat wel doet.

Curabrein sends nothing. What you fill in stays on your phone, encrypted. There is no account, no server and no company looking over your shoulder. I, the maker, see nothing of what you enter. Not even if I wanted to.
That is not a promise about how careful I am. The app does not hold permission to use the internet. You can check that yourself: Curabrein's page in the Play Store lists the app's permissions under "About this app". Internet is not among them.

Everything below stays on your own device and nowhere else. You enter it yourself; the app derives nothing from sensors, contacts, location or other apps.
The data sits in an encrypted database on your device (SQLCipher). The key is held in the Android Keystore, the device's own secure storage, and not in the app.
You can lock the app with your fingerprint or your phone's code. That is a separate choice in the settings, with a way out for when your fingerprint does not work.
If you make a backup, you can protect it with a password of your own. That password is turned into a key with PBKDF2 (210,000 rounds, HMAC-SHA-256), and the file is encrypted with AES-256-GCM. That password is stored nowhere. Lose it, and nobody opens that copy again, myself included.
The app asks for five permissions, and each one is for something you can see:

About those last two: the app asks your device to confirm that it is you, and gets back only yes or no. Your fingerprint itself never reaches the app; it stays in your phone's secure chip.
There is also a sixth permission that Android grants itself, to pass messages around inside the app. It gives access to nothing and is not something you approve.
Internet is not among them. The app does not request that permission and therefore cannot make a connection.
Only when you press it yourself. In each of these cases you see beforehand what goes out, and you are the one who presses the button:
In all of these cases nothing leaves your device without an action from you.
The app can read screen texts aloud with your device's voice. That is off by default.
Some Android voices send the text to the manufacturer's server to turn it
into sound. Curabrein does not show those voices. The app only
lists voices the device reports as network_required = 0, so only
voices that work offline.
The GDPR gives you the right to access, rectify, port and erase your data. With most apps you exercise those rights by writing to a company that holds your data.
Here it works differently. I hold no data of yours. There is no copy, no backup on my side and no database you appear in. I cannot view your data, cannot correct it and cannot erase it. That is how it was deliberately built.
There is one point where that does not hold, and it is a point you start yourself. Send me a message through the settings, and from that moment I do hold something: what you wrote, and the email address the mail comes from. Those messages arrive at curabrein@hotmail.com, a mailbox with Microsoft. I keep them for as long as I need to resolve what you reported, and no longer. If you want your message erased sooner, or want to know what I hold of it, write to that same address. For those messages your rights do apply against me in the ordinary way.
You therefore exercise those rights in the app itself:

"Erase everything" really erases everything: every entry, every note, every contact, and the settings. Nothing is left and nothing can be recovered. Afterwards the app is as it was after installing.
If you want to lodge a complaint about the processing of your data, you can do so with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, dataprotectionauthority.be.
For completeness, because this is separate from the app: if you install Curabrein through Google Play, Google knows that. Google gives me anonymised figures about it: how many installs, on what kind of devices. If your device is set to send error reports, I also receive technical reports about crashes.
That data comes from Google and not from Curabrein. It contains nothing you entered in the app. For that processing Google is the controller and Google Play's terms apply.
Curabrein is made for adults. The app is not directed at children. Since nothing is collected from anyone, that covers them too.
If anything changes in how the app handles data, this policy changes with it, with a new date at the top. As long as the app sends nothing, there is little to change. Should the app ever send something, you will be shown that before it happens. It will not become a line that quietly appears in this text.
This page fetches nothing either. No font, no script, no image, no tracking pixel. Nothing records that you were here. It would be odd to write that the app sends nothing, on a page that does.

Curabrein n’envoie rien. Ce que vous notez reste sur votre téléphone, chiffré. Il n’y a ni compte, ni serveur, ni entreprise qui regarde par-dessus votre épaule. Moi, le créateur, je ne vois rien de ce que vous saisissez. Même si je le voulais.
Ce n’est pas une promesse sur mon sérieux. L’application ne dispose pas de l’autorisation d’utiliser internet. Vous pouvez le vérifier vous-même : la page de Curabrein dans le Play Store indique, sous « À propos de cette application », les autorisations demandées. Internet n’y figure pas.

Tout ce qui suit reste uniquement sur votre propre appareil. C’est vous qui le saisissez ; l’application ne déduit rien de capteurs, de contacts, de votre position ou d’autres applications.
Les données se trouvent dans une base chiffrée sur votre appareil (SQLCipher). La clé est conservée dans l’Android Keystore, le stockage sécurisé de l’appareil lui-même, et non dans l’application.
Vous pouvez verrouiller l’application avec votre empreinte ou le code de votre téléphone. C’est un choix distinct dans les réglages, avec une issue de secours si votre empreinte ne fonctionne pas.
Si vous faites une copie de sauvegarde, vous pouvez la protéger par un mot de passe qui vous appartient. Ce mot de passe est transformé en clé avec PBKDF2 (210 000 tours, HMAC-SHA-256), et le fichier est chiffré en AES-256-GCM. Ce mot de passe n’est stocké nulle part. Si vous le perdez, plus personne n’ouvrira cette copie, moi compris.
L’application demande cinq autorisations, et chacune sert à quelque chose de visible :

À propos de ces deux dernières : l’application demande à votre appareil de confirmer que c’est bien vous, et ne reçoit en retour qu’un oui ou un non. Votre empreinte elle-même n’entre jamais dans l’application ; elle reste dans la puce sécurisée de votre téléphone.
Il existe encore une sixième autorisation qu’Android s’accorde à lui-même pour faire circuler des messages à l’intérieur de l’application. Elle ne donne accès à rien et n’est pas quelque chose que vous approuvez.
Internet n’en fait pas partie. L’application ne demande pas cette autorisation et ne peut donc établir aucune connexion.
Uniquement quand vous appuyez vous-même. Dans chacun de ces cas, vous voyez au préalable ce qui part, et c’est vous qui appuyez sur le bouton :
Dans tous ces cas, rien ne quitte votre appareil sans un geste de votre part.
L’application peut lire les textes à voix haute avec la voix de votre appareil. C’est désactivé par défaut.
Certaines voix Android envoient le texte au serveur du fabricant pour en
faire du son. Curabrein n’affiche pas ces voix. L’application ne
propose que les voix que l’appareil signale comme
network_required = 0, donc uniquement des voix qui fonctionnent
hors ligne.
Le RGPD vous donne le droit d’accéder à vos données, de les rectifier, de les récupérer et de les effacer. Dans la plupart des applications, vous exercez ces droits en écrivant à une entreprise qui détient vos données.
Ici, cela fonctionne autrement. Je ne détiens aucune donnée vous concernant. Il n’y a ni copie, ni sauvegarde de mon côté, ni base de données où vous figurez. Je ne peux pas consulter vos données, ni les corriger, ni les effacer. C’est délibérément construit ainsi.
Il y a un point où cela ne vaut pas, et c’est vous qui l’ouvrez. Si vous m’envoyez un message depuis les réglages, je détiens à partir de ce moment quelque chose : ce que vous avez écrit, et l’adresse e-mail d’où provient le message. Ces messages arrivent à curabrein@hotmail.com, une boîte chez Microsoft. Je les conserve le temps qu’il me faut pour traiter votre signalement, et pas plus. Si vous voulez que votre message soit effacé plus tôt, ou savoir ce que j’en détiens, écrivez à cette même adresse. Pour ces messages, vos droits s’appliquent normalement à mon égard.
Vous exercez donc ces droits dans l’application elle-même :

« Tout effacer » efface réellement tout : chaque enregistrement, chaque note, chaque contact, et les réglages. Il ne reste rien et rien n’est récupérable. Ensuite, l’application est comme après l’installation.
Si vous souhaitez introduire une plainte concernant le traitement de vos données, vous pouvez le faire auprès de l’Autorité de protection des données (Belgique), autoriteprotectiondonnees.be.
Pour être complet, car cela ne dépend pas de l’application : si vous installez Curabrein via Google Play, Google le sait. Google me fournit à ce sujet des chiffres anonymisés : combien d’installations, sur quels types d’appareils. Si votre appareil est réglé pour envoyer des rapports d’erreur, je reçois aussi des rapports techniques sur les plantages.
Ces données viennent de Google et non de Curabrein. Elles ne contiennent rien de ce que vous avez saisi dans l’application. Pour ce traitement, Google est le responsable du traitement et les conditions de Google Play s’appliquent.
Curabrein est faite pour des adultes. L’application ne s’adresse pas aux enfants. Comme rien n’est collecté auprès de personne, cela vaut aussi pour eux.
Si quelque chose change dans la manière dont l’application traite les données, cette politique change avec, avec une nouvelle date en haut. Tant que l’application n’envoie rien, il y a peu à modifier. Si l’application devait un jour envoyer quelque chose, vous le verriez avant que cela n’arrive. Cela ne deviendra pas une ligne qui apparaît discrètement dans ce texte.
Cette page non plus ne récupère rien. Aucune police, aucun script, aucune image, aucun pixel de mesure. Rien n’enregistre que vous êtes venu. Il serait étrange d’écrire que l’application n’envoie rien, sur une page qui, elle, le ferait.
